Make the requirement testable.
Turn source text, technical standards, and deadlines into explicit product decisions.
Focused integrations, operational tools, and compliance systems for the requirements shaping health data.
The European Health Data Space builds interoperability requirements on top of national health-record systems that were never standardised with each other, using the EHRxF exchange format as the mechanism for cross-border and cross-system data sharing — a real integration target that MedTech vendors serving EU health systems will need to support as EHDS obligations phase in.
For a startup building on top of hospital or clinic systems, that means an interoperability gateway that can translate between whatever a given EHR natively exports and EHRxF's structured format, handle the consent and access-control model EHDS requires for secondary data use, and stay correct as the specification itself continues to be refined during rollout.
Three decisions keep the project grounded in operations from the first workshop onward.
01
Turn source text, technical standards, and deadlines into explicit product decisions.
02
Map owners, data sources, approvals, and failure paths before choosing the software shape.
03
Include the operational trail, documentation, and maintainable architecture the requirement demands.
Each area is scoped around a named buyer problem, then designed outward to cover its systems.
If health data software is on your roadmap, describe what you run today and where the requirement gets stuck.
